Shaw Soo Wei is a Partner at Gobi Partners and Chairperson of the firm’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee. She formed the founding team for Gobi’s ASEAN office in 2011 with the launch of the first Singapore Media Ventures Fund in partnership with Infocomm Media Development Authority (iMDA). She leads the firm’s ESG policy, strategy, and partnership development, while overseeing the integration of ESG standards across all funds and investment processes.
Soo Wei serves as an investment committee member for Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF). She also co-founded the Asia Gender-Smart Investment Forum with UN Women to drive capital towards gender-inclusive investment practices across the region. Soo Wei has over two decades of multi-disciplinary experience in media and technology helping entrepreneurs and creators build sustainable companies, raise financing and expand globally.
As an angel investor, Soo Wei focuses on impact investments in education, healthcare and media. A passionate advocate for the arts and sustainability, Soo Wei has served on the board of directors of multiple portfolio companies and NGOs in media, technology, arts and environmental protection.
Ms Shaw holds a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Oxford and Advanced Certification in Sustainability & Sustainable Businesses by the United Nations Global Compact.
