Lapasar Platform Rolls Out Across the DRB-HICOM Group

Expansion marks a new phase after six years of collaboration

August 10, 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 August 2026 – Lapasar is expanding its procurement platform across the DRB-HICOM Berhad Group, marking a new phase in the six-year collaboration between the two organisations.

The expansion follows the deployment of the platform at the DRB-HICOM Group’s headquarters in 2019, where it has been used to manage the procurement of day-to-day operational requirements. The wider rollout reflects DRB-HICOM’s continued focus on strengthening procurement governance, improving operational efficiency and increasing visibility over purchasing activities through digitalisation.

To date, the platform has gone live across six of the Group’s subsidiaries, with the rollout targeting a total of 20 subsidiaries across the DRB-HICOM Group. The deployment is being carried out in phases, with completion expected by December 2026.

Thinesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Lapasar, said:

“The expanded rollout marks an important milestone in our collaboration with DRB-HICOM. Over the past six years, we have worked closely with the Group to support its procurement digitalisation efforts. We are pleased to continue supporting its objectives to enhance visibility, consistency and governance across procurement operations.”

As one of Malaysia’s largest and most diversified groups, DRB-HICOM operates businesses across Mobility, Banking, Postal, Services and Properties. The wider deployment of a common procurement platform will support greater consistency across procurement processes in participating subsidiaries.

DRB-HICOM ranked on the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list and reported Group revenue of RM17.31 billion for the financial year ended 31 December 2025. The Group employs more than 42,000 people across 93 active companies within its five business segments.

Khairul Azman Mohmad Razak, Chief Procurement Officer of DRB-HICOM, said:

“The expansion of the platform supports our objective to enhance procurement governance and operational efficiency across the Group through digitalisation. By standardising procurement workflows and improving visibility over purchasing activities, we can strengthen compliance, support better decision-making and streamline procurement processes across our subsidiaries.”

The platform digitises key procurement activities, including purchase requests, approvals, reporting and spend tracking. It also provides greater oversight of procurement transactions through structured workflows and audit trails.

The expansion places DRB-HICOM among a growing group of large Malaysian enterprises digitising procurement at scale. Malaysia’s digital transformation market is projected to grow from US$12.67 billion in 2026 to US$29.74 billion by 2031, with manufacturing accounting for the largest share of adoption. The rollout reflects a broader shift towards digital procurement among Malaysia’s largest organisations.

The expanded rollout across the DRB-HICOM Group represents an important milestone for Lapasar and underscores the growing adoption of digital procurement solutions among large organisations seeking to strengthen governance, efficiency and operational control.
